On its fieldtrip to Pyongyang, the HSS Korea donated over 1,000 economics and business books and magazines to the Korea Economy & Trade Information Centre (KETIC) in the presence of the German Ambassador Gerhard Thiedemann. The KETIC is one of the few accesses to relevant economic information in North Korea. Hanns-Seidel-Foundation and KITEC agreed on a regular support through books and magazines on information on economic theory and economic policy and through the providing of data to the condition of the global economy.

A survey on land use of farmers in Haean was conducted from Aug. 16-24. This survey was organised by the Hanns-Seidel-Foundation Korea with support of NACF requested by Patrick Poppenborg, the researcher of Terreco project on agricultural and eco-system development in inner-Korean border area.

Establishment of the Korea DMZ Council with participation of Hanns-Seidel-Foundation Korea
To coordinate and thus make more efficient the projects of a variety of organizations, among them the DMZ Policy Forum of the MOPAS, in which Hanns-Seidel-Foundation also participates, the DMZ future coalition of NGOs, the border forum at the Korean Institute for National Unification (KINU), the work of several ministries (Environment, MOPAS, Unification) and public institutions, on August 17 the Korea DMZ Council was established.

A workshop to become an assistant for a member of the parliament took place on July 12-16, 2010. It was organized by a long term partner of HSS Korea, the Center for Korean Women in Politics. The participants were female students of political sciences. They will all do an internship at the National Assembly after the workshop.
