During the second day of his visit in South Korea, Christian Hegemer, head of the Institute for International Cooperation and Contact (IBZ) of Hanns-Seidel-Foundation, held a special lecture on the topic “German Reunification and the tasks of political consulting and education”. After giving an overview of the historical events and effects of the German Reunification, Christian Hegemer talked about the challenges of social integration, the importance of political education and the lesson, which South Korea can derive from the German Experience. The event was organized by Prof. Myoung-Kyu Park, director of the Institute for Peace and Unification Studies (IPUS) and was followed by a Q&A session, in which the characteristics of the German development as well as the diverse possibilities of political education in Germany were taken on again.
