The President of the new People Participation Party met for a briefing and discussion with Dr. Bernhard Seliger, Respresentative of Hanns-Seidel-Foundation Korea, who was accompanied by Micong Klimes of the German Embassy Seoul. The political basis of the new party, which has been founded in January 2010, is determined by the legacy of late President Roh Moo-Hyun. According to Presidnet Lee Jae-Joung this includes fighting for democracy, including elements of direct democracy, protection of the weak, balanced economic development as well as peace and reunification. Lee Jae-Joung had been Minister of Unification in the government of Roh Moo-Hyun and prepared the summit meeting of Kim Jong-Il and Roh Moo-Hyun in October 2007.
