Get-together of Hanns Seidel Foundation and PSCORE

On Thursday, November 12th, 2009, members of the Seoul Office of the Hanns Seidel Foundation met with members of PSCORE (People for Successful Corean Reunification) for a joint dinner and a screening under the topic “20 years after the fall of the Wall”. PSCORE is an NGO that strives for mutual understanding and harmony between the two Koreas since 2008. Present companies at the get-together were refugees from North Korea, who are specially supported by PSCORE.

Firstly, extracts from Korean newscasts on the occasion of the fall of the Berlin Wall were shown. Afterwards, Dr. Bernhard Seliger, representative of the HSS Korea, held a lecture about the German reunification. Finally, participants had the opportunity to discuss parallels and differences in the German and Korean process of reunification and the chances for Korea to learn from the German experiences and to prepare adequately for the unification of the Koreas. In the future joint meetings like this between the Hanns-Seidel-Foundation and PSCORE are planned bimonthly.
