The cooperation in overcoming the division of Korea through preparation and academic discussion, the promotion of economic and political integration in Northeast Asian and the knowledge cooperation of Germany and Korea in these questions are the aims of cooperation of the Graduate School of Northeast Asian Studies (GSNEAS) of Dong-A University, Hanns-Seidel-Foundation Korea and the Research Council of Unification Policy of the Korean Institute for National Unification. For this purpose Dean Sang-Hee Jeong, GSNEAS, Dr. Bernhard Seliger, HSS Korea and Dr. Suh Jae-Jin, president of KINU, signed an MoU during the jointly co-organized 3rd Dong-A Global Forum. At least once a year a joint event in Busan will bring together resources and networks of the three partners. In his congratulatory speech Dr. Bernhard Seliger stressed the importance of Northeast Asian cooperation and integration for overcoming the division of Korea and compared it with the role of European integration for overcoming German division twenty years ago.
