  The minister of public administration and security visited Germany

Dr. Lee, Dal-gon, the minister of public administration and security visited Germany from the 2nd of September to 3rd of September in 2009. Kim, Young-soo, project manager of Hanns-Seidel-Foundation, Korea office accompanied the minister during his visit to Germany. He visited Freiburg to observe its green development and the application of renewable energies as well as to be informed about foreign management of public transportation and urban planning systems.
Song, Myong-ho, mayor of Pyeongtaek city and Noh, Gwan-gyu, mayor of Sooncheon city, accompanied the minister Dr. Lee’s visit to Germany and the two cities made an MoU (memorandum of understanding) with Freiburg for mutual exchange on environment, energy and urban development.
After the conclusion of the MOU, Minister Dr. Lee had a luncheon with Salomon, mayor of Freiburg, which Mayor Song and Mayor Noh also joined in and where they had had deep and wide discussions on global issues such as environment and energy.
The two cities are expected to have substantial and productive exchange on relevant parts through the offices of the minister, Dr. Lee. Exchange between Korean and German local governments will be helpful for advancement in environmental topics, which are getting more and more important these days.
