그 외 주요 단체로는 유럽정치연구회(Forum for European Political Research), 한국독일정치연구회(Koreanische Gesellschaft für Politikwissenschaft), 한국동유럽발칸학회(The Korean Association of the Central and East European Studies), 한국스페인어문학회(Asociacion Coreana de Hispanistas), 한국유럽학회(The Korean Society of Contemporary European Studies: KSCES), 한국프랑스문화학회(Korean Association of French Cultural Studies) and the 한국프랑스정치학회(Association coréenne d'études politiques française-ACEPF) 등이 있다. 한스자이델 재단 역시 외교통상부 (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade), 교육인적자원부 (Ministry of Education and Human Resources), 중앙선거관리위원회 선거연수원 (Electoral Training Institute to NEC), ASEM 연구원 (ASEM Institute), 서강대학교 (Sogang University), and 우리은행 (Woori Bank)과 함께 주요 후원단체에 해당한다. 본 행사의 공동 주최자인 유럽연구한국사회모임(Korean Society for Contemporary European Studies )의 대표 이규영 교수와 서강대유럽연구센터장(Sogang University Center for European Studies) 임상우 교수는 본 행사가 한국에서 이루어지는 첫 대규모 학제간 학술회의에 해당한다는 점을 강조했다. 올해가 로마조약(Treaty of Rome) 50주년에 해당한다는 점을 감안할 때 본 학술회의는 EU가 한국에 대해 갖는 의미와 역할에 대해 고찰할 수 있는 좋은 기회를 제공하는 것으로 평가된다. 한스자이델 재단은 EU와 북한관계에 관련 정치, 경제, 인도주의적 관점에서 저명한 전문가들을 초빙하였다. 주요 참여인사로는 독일 대사인 Norbert Baas 박사와 EU 한국위원회 대표자인 Brian McDonald 등이 있다.

The international conference of the Korean Society for Contemporary European Studies brought nine academic societies together and was co-hosted and sponsored by Hanns Seidel Foundation.
